Censored Texts

This task asks students to consider whether texts should be edited in order to remove potentially offensive content.

An examination of opinion pieces about the editing of "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" by Mark Twain is followed by a comparison reading of two versions of a scene from "A Raisin in the Sun" by Lorraine Hansberry.

Students are asked to take a position as to whether texts should be altered or left in their original form.
