Intellectual and Artistic Expression: Set Production Designer

Students will begin learning what is considered an artistic and cultural trend. Next, they will begin doing background research on artistic and cultural trends that occurred in the United States from 1865 to the present. During their research students will examine how the trends reflect and/or influence ideas and values of that time period.

Students will investigate artwork, fashion, and products as well as other items that were popular during this time period. This will give students knowledge of what life looked like during the time period they selected in order to recreate a historically accurate production design.

Note: This task was created for students in a virtual-learning school. Directions, scaffolding, and peer/teacher feedback may need to be modified to meet the needs of a non-virtual learning environment.
