Learning Trajectories in Mathematics: A Foundation for Standards, Curriculum, Assessment, and Instruction
In this report, Phil Daro, Frederic Mosher, and Tom Corcoran describe what learning trajectories are and how they can be used in mathematics. Specifically, the report describes strategies for using learning trajectories for assessment, instructional purposes, and the development of the Common Core State Standards. As the authors write, "Learning progressions can inform teachers about what to expect from their students. They provide an empirical basis for choices about when to teach what to whom."
